FOCUSING ON JESUS

It's one of those winter days...no place special to go...nothing planned...what do I focus on?

There is always a house that needs cleaned. The drawers that need a good going through.

I think this is what they call "Cabin Fever."

What about a book?  But, it makes me sleepy.

There is One I know deserves my focus...

The One Who is with me on this wintery day. 

I open my Bible to the psalms and they speak to my heart...

The ones that are coming to my attention, I write in my journal.

Yes, my focus is on Jesus...The Author and Finisher of my faith.

Even in a winter season of life...He is here.

SOUNDS OF THE SEASONS

       

Robins sing in newly budded trees

              while raindrops fall and

              
                    thunder rumbles in the distance

In the cool of the evening 

   crickets chirp amid

          the voices on the sidewalk

              and air conditioners hum.

**************

            Brisk cool winds whip the trees.

               leaves swirl and crunch under foot

                   while squawking geese fly south.

                    The noisy engine of the snow blower

                     blend with the scraping of the snow plow,

                           and the purr of the furnace.


We live in the four seasons. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.
